[0:00:30] Eric: Guys, we're doing it. Welcome to another piece of supplemental content. This is the first ever live draft. And boys, we're drafting for a Goof World concert. Andrew, this was your idea. Do you want to explain?
[0:00:45] Andrew: Is having its first music festival. We are picking the four acts that will be part of our specific festival. And then the audience can decide on who has the best Goof World Fest. The pool is alive and dead.
[0:01:00] Eric: Oh. Yeah. I like this. So are we calling it Goof World concert? Do you want me to call it Goof World Fest? I like Goof World Fest. Goof World Fest works for me. Goof Fest. Goof Fest. Goof Fest. Goof Fest. In our first live draft. Goof Fest. We've never done this live before. We've never done this. Because of Jeff's overt racism. But we are going to do our first ever live draft. Like always, we're using regulation drafts that Sean Bear put together. Great site. Incredible site. Here's a question mark. So it's like, oh, draft card. Oh, it's starting soon. It's starting now. And it's ready to go. But guys, you know it's a snake draft. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1. But in order to figure out who is going first, we need to randomize. How many times do we... Two. Yeah, I was going to say two. I was going to say two. I think it's two. Second anniversary. All right. Starts in an egg order. But what randomization is Gavin? Oh. Andrew, Nick, Jeff, Eric. Are you ready for the second randomization and the draft? I'm ready. Ready. It's Eric. Yes. Nick, Jeff, Andrew, Gavin. And gag.
[0:02:01] Eric: How important was it for you to go first, Andrew?
[0:02:07] Andrew: I feel I'm not worried about my picks. Very little. I'd say very little. I don't think anyone's going to take any of my picks.
[0:02:14] Eric: Gavin, did you spend a lot of time on this to really, like, drill down and figure out what you want in your goof world test? I spent the normal amount of time thinking about it. A regulation amount of time. And how much time is that?
[0:02:29] Gavin: About 25 minutes. Oh, wow. That's awesome.
[0:02:33] Eric: And, um, Jeff, how are you feeling about your picks before we get into it?
[0:02:38] Geoff: I wrote them down 18 minutes ago. Is that right? Yeah. That's awesome. Well... While we were playing golf? Yeah.
[0:02:43] Eric: Well, he was eating pizza. While eating pizza. Yeah, yeah, he was eating pizza. So, first ever, first ever live draft. I'm going first. And my pick, I think it's going to rock. It's going to start, and you just go, oh, shit, we're going to un-low. Oh, shit. Because I'm looking for my number one pick at their height. It's Motley Crue. Motley Crue is my opener.
[0:03:11] Gavin: So, they're playing in this order, right? Yes. Absolutely.
[0:03:15] Eric: Oh, yeah. Absolutely. So, they're your opener. They're my opener. Motley Crue comes out. Vince Neal, hey, how's it going, buddy? Vince Neal's going crazy. He just got arrested, charged with vehicular manslaughter. And he's at Goof World now, performing for every week. Brought him out of the time machine. Vince Neal on stage right after finding out that vehicular manslaughter is the charge against him. Tough. Very tough. But I think they're going to play Kickstart My Heart. Tommy Lee is going to be in the drum circus thing, where he just goes in circles and circles and circles. And that's going to be my first pick. I don't think anyone's going to pick better than Motley Crue for a Goof World thing. A Goofy band. You're Kickstarting your goof. That's what I'm saying. Whoa! Yeah! And everyone goes crazy. It's awesome. It's incredible. But, Nick, what's your first pick?
[0:04:06] Nick: Goof World is an extension of the show. It is regulation. It is home to the regulation podcast stuff. Therefore, I have to go with the regulation artist. It's Coolio! You sucked it! You son of a bitch! You busted!
[0:04:20] Unidentified: You son of a bitch! Goddamn you! You motherfucker! I so wanted to be first! Fuck you! I can't believe! Busted! Fuck! Unbelievable! Enjoy your purple jacket now, asshole!
[0:04:34] Eric: Now I'm sulking and sweating in it! Coolio, a great pick. Very regulation.
[0:04:41] Gavin: As soon as Andrew said Alive or Dead, I switched my first pick to Coolio.
[0:04:45] Eric: Oh, really? He was your one.
[0:04:47] Gavin: Yeah.
[0:04:47] Eric: Yeah. And what song is he coming out and playing first, Nick? Gangster's Paradise.
[0:04:52] Gavin: Nick, name one of the Coolio song. Keenan and Kel's theme.
[0:04:57] Unidentified: Oh, here it goes! The one with the Keenan and Kel.
[0:05:04] Eric: All right! Well, Motley Crue is my first pick, and Coolio's off the board. So, Jeff, you can't pick either one of those. I know that fucks up your board bad. So, who do you have for your opening act?
[0:05:17] Geoff: Well, I guess I'm going to have to reorient things a little bit. I was really looking forward to starting things off right with Coolio. Me too! Unfortunately, he was unavailable, so we had to get a last-minute fill-in. I'm going to fill in with another just fun, silly, good-time rock band. A lot of hits. You're going to love it. They always put on a great show. They don't take themselves too seriously. I'm going to start with Cheap Trick.
[0:05:40] Eric: Ooh! I like that. What version of Cheap Trick? Is it, like, current Cheap Trick? Are we going, like... No, we're going... Like, 70s, like, classic? Yeah, like, 79. Like, with... Oh, all right. 79. With Bunny Carlos on drums, smoking a cigarette, and his button-up shirt and a little tie? That's my guy. Like, he's going to... Like, he's clocking in. I like that.
[0:05:59] Andrew: Clock it in for Goof Fest? Ooh. You told me the Duracell Bunny's name was Bunny Carlos. I would believe you.
[0:06:05] Eric: It's my name.
[0:06:07] Geoff: I think it's Miles, actually, isn't it?
[0:06:09] Eric: No, that's only in England. I think Miles is the rabbit in England. Don't worry about it. This is... Cheap Trick, I think, is a really good one to get started here for Goof Fest. Yeah. I don't think that's going to take anything off the board for Andrew, but I am excited to find out Andrew... Oh, no!
[0:06:27] Andrew: My first pick! Oh, no! Cheap Trick. Oh, no. Great band, though. Love Cheap Trick. Nick loves that. He's in the scene.
[0:06:37] Unidentified: What a smartass.
[0:06:39] Andrew: Goof Festival. Goof Fest. You're in the crowd. You don't know what's going on. There's smoke. There's smoke everywhere. What? Who's that? Who's that walk... That can't be. Phil Collins! With Genesis! Phil Collins! Yeah! Why would you pick Phil Collins? That's clearly my... Genesis walking out with Phil Collins. Somehow, the doctors determined he can do one more show, and it's part of you, Phil.
[0:07:03] Unidentified: My list has been taken out.
[0:07:04] Andrew: Shit!
[0:07:05] Unidentified: You can still play Genesis.
[0:07:06] Andrew: I want Genesis. I don't want Phil Collins. I want Genesis. You want Genesis? I want... Well, it's the whole Phil Collins catalog with Genesis. It's the final show. But is he singing, or is Pia Gage? Yeah, he's fully back. The doctor said, hey, you got one more in you, and he's like, you know what? Goof fest. That's where I'm going.
[0:07:25] Nick: So, Gavin can pick Peter Gabriel, Genesis?
[0:07:28] Andrew: Sure, I guess. I don't know. I just... Listen, everything's in the rotation. In the air tonight. Tarzan music. It's all possible on this show. But that's all Phil Collins. None of that is Genesis. But it's part of Phil Collins is in Genesis. It's the final celebration of everything.
[0:07:42] Eric: But Genesis isn't going to play Phil Collins stuff.
[0:07:45] Andrew: They can absolutely play it. He's created it. It's bloody... No. There's no... Okay, so you're telling me there's no time in the history of music in which a guy that is part of a band and also does solo stuff plays some of his solo stuff with the band that's super popular. Never been done.
[0:08:01] Gavin: If you said Peter Gabriel was still there, he's not going to just stand next to the drums while Phil Collins smashes it.
[0:08:06] Unidentified: While they play... I can't dance. It's a special one-time show. Even the doctor said he can do one more. Right. But why... I still don't understand.
[0:08:17] Andrew: You have Genesis, but you only need Phil Collins songs.
[0:08:20] Geoff: You're getting the whole Phil Collins experience with the Genesis guys. Genesis is all the good songs anyway. It kills his pick.
[0:08:28] Eric: I just... I don't... I don't know. He has to... I think you would have to pick Phil Collins for Phil Collins songs. No, I don't.
[0:08:34] Geoff: Yeah, but with Genesis, you get Against All Odds. You get That's All...
[0:08:39] Eric: He doesn't know those songs. He doesn't know those songs. I did... He knows the Tar song. I'm a Phil guy. I'm a Phil Genesis guy.
[0:08:45] Gavin: Land of Confusion. Susudio. Land of Confusion where the video is all the...
[0:08:50] Eric: I hate that video so much.
[0:08:52] Gavin: Spitting Image Puppets.
[0:08:53] Eric: Disgusting.
[0:08:54] Unidentified: This is the world we live in.
[0:08:56] Eric: Oh! So if they have Genesis, are they able to play Sludge Hammer, which is a Peter Gabriel song? They can do whatever they feel like. This is their final tale. Genesis with Phil Collins.
[0:09:13] Unidentified: I hate this is...
[0:09:16] Gavin: This is... This is... Billy Boy with Genesis. So the people of Goof-Off Festa watching Phil Collins drum on Sludge Hammer by Peter Gabriel. Yeah.
[0:09:26] Andrew: Love it. If they feel like it, listen. It's not up to me for Phil and Genesis as a whole. They come up with their track list.
[0:09:33] Eric: Just so you know, we are doing a live draft and the mods have started a poll. I'm not saying that they get a vote in this. I'm simply letting you know there's a poll in the chat that just says, is Phil Collins Genesis? It is overwhelmingly no. A bunch of Genesis haters in there. I don't know.
[0:09:49] Gavin: So Gav, what are you picking? Should we post on our socials that we're doing a live draft? Sure. Yeah. My pick. My first pick. Doing a lot right now. All right. Yeah, that speaks out of the universe like Jack used to. Let me do the tweet that you said. I declare this idea.
[0:10:04] Eric: Now this is a classic Gav, where it's just like, hey, I fucked you? We're going to keep barreling on.
[0:10:12] Gavin: All right. Well, half of my list is gone. We're going to have to work on the second half, the back nine. The smoke's out on the stage. As Andrew said, there's a light. There's a light come on. You're using my smoke? Yeah, your smoke's leaked over onto my stage because you stole all my acts. Oh, what's rising up out of the stage? John Risinger? You think it's a person? No, it's a giant egg. Who is hatching from the egg? It is none other than Randy Newman.
[0:10:39] Eric: He's hatching from an egg?
[0:10:41] Gavin: Yeah. Yeah, he comes out of an egg.
[0:10:43] Eric: Why does he do that? Well, first. He's hatching out of an egg?
[0:10:50] Unidentified: Yeah.
[0:10:50] Gavin: It's Humpty Randy. Eric stood up to...
[0:10:57] Eric: It's your fucking face, so more people click on it. Live draft. Hey, how do you feel about that pick, Jeff? Dumpty Newman? I feel great about it.
[0:11:15] Geoff: I can't wait to see what his second pick is.
[0:11:17] Eric: Well, he does have to. Andrew, very quiet during that. Just want to point out. I had no criticism. Great pick. Wow. Great pick.
[0:11:29] Andrew: Some of you guys seem like you just want to whine about things to whine about. I'm not respected by whining. I'm specific.
[0:11:35] Eric: Just so you know, the poll has closed with almost 600 people saying that Phil Collins is not Genesis. It's 82%. He's part of it. He was in it. Okay, well, Randy Newman is off the board. Our socials have been updated. I guess we'll see if people show up for that. Hey, Gavin, you get two picks in a row. What do you got?
[0:12:01] Gavin: Well, they've cleared up all the egg goo. What? Coming up next is a group of people, but the guy in the middle, the silhouette in the middle, just shoves off the other two. He's coming out solo. He's away from his Doobie brothers. Fuck you, fuck! It's Michael McDonald! Nice.
[0:12:17] Ad read: Damn it!
[0:12:18] Geoff: What? Okay. Nice.
[0:12:20] Eric: Shit! So, okay. But what if... What if Nick wanted to pick the Doobie brothers? Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
[0:12:28] Gavin: Well, I mean, obviously Michael McDonald is taken, so you can have the others. The other dudes. From the band.
[0:12:34] Geoff: You can have the Oobie brothers.
[0:12:37] Eric: Michael McDonald takes the D? Yeah. No, I think he's Doobie. So, okay. Could I potentially pick Phil Collins?
[0:12:49] Gavin: Well, Andrew specified that Phil would be in the Genesis performance, right? I don't think he can. Oh, he's... Yeah, Phil's in the Genesis performance. As well as Peter Gabriel.
[0:13:00] Andrew: I don't know. You know, I just know. Just say yes.
[0:13:06] Eric: Yes. Okay. Okay. Okay. Well, Michael McDonald off the board. I love that. I keep forgetting to make him be on my board, but Andrew can't forget his next pick. No, you can't,
[0:13:21] Andrew: because you're just... You experienced Genesis with Phil, filling the way, doing his thing.
[0:13:26] Unidentified: Don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't.
[0:13:29] Andrew: Drums playing. Smoke everywhere. There's something in the air tonight. People are going crazy. Don't. Drum sound hits. Flash. The people in the audience get flashbang. What's going on? They can't see. Genesis and Phil are gone. Out of nowhere, Outkast runs out on stage. What did he say? Did he say Outkast? Yeah, he said Outkast. Oh. Outkast. Outkast. Sprinting on, going crazy. Andre 3000 has a flute, and that's okay, because he likes it, and that's fine. He's allowed to, but they're performing.
[0:14:07] Geoff: That's actually not a bad look. I think it's,
[0:14:09] Eric: I think it's a good pick. Let me ask, if I wanted to draft Andre 3000, would you let me? No. Yeah, it's flute work. Yeah, if you want, it'll just some flute stuff. So he comes out to play at your festival. Specifically, he has a flute, and you would allow me to pick Andre 3000.
[0:14:24] Andrew: The man loves the flute, and if you wanted to give him an opportunity to do some flute work for what you're doing, that's fine. What if, can Phil Collins do flute work?
[0:14:33] Eric: I don't know if he can. He's talented. Doesn't Phil Collins own a bunch of like the Alamo? Yes. Yeah. He loans it to them for display. Do you know about that, Andrew? He's a big civil war collector. Yeah, he like, he has like the voice over there, doesn't he? Yes. He's like, hi, I'm Phil Collins. This is the Alamo. That's incredible. The whole thing about it. I had no idea. Yeah, I just found out from Wayne. I just knew about him and Genesis. Yeah. Okay. Oh my God. You couldn't name any other songs, but, that's again, that's not Genesis. Jeff.
[0:15:10] Geoff: Yeah, that's me. Jeff, you have your next pick, Cheap Trick. I'm excited about this next pick. Cheap Trick has warmed the crowd up. It's set the tone. It's just about to be dusk. It's like magic hour. It's time to bring out the greatest rock and roll duo in the history of music. In 2026, they can't fucking stand each other. They won't be in the same room together. They'll never play live again. But in 1987, on the Big Band Boom Tour, they don't hate each other yet. We're watching Hall and Oates at their prime.
[0:15:40] Eric: Yep. It's great. It's great.
[0:15:42] Geoff: Daryl Hall, John Oates, and Happy Jeff. Yeah.
[0:15:45] Eric: And that's great too. Two guys, the name of the band, Hall and Oates, a name they refuse to call themselves on the albums and everything, never said Hall and Oates. It always said their full names every single time. What are their full names? And the world said no. Daryl Hall and John Oates. John Oates, that's right. On the cover of every album. It's going to stick one of these days. It's so crazy. They fucking hate each other. Every time they get interviewed now, hey, you guys ever thinking about reuniting? And they both go, fuck no. Incredible. That's awesome. I think that's... Chevy Chase video, great. Private Eyes video, great.
[0:16:31] Geoff: He's hanging out next to a pool table in an open room.
[0:16:33] Eric: A couple of trench coats and they're in business. Got some flats behind them
[0:16:36] Geoff: and some smoke.
[0:16:37] Eric: Well, Cheap Trick and Hall and Oates are off the board. So Nick, you have your next pick.
[0:16:42] Nick: Hall and Oates have been hauled away by the police after getting into a fist fight on the stage. Smoke rises suddenly. So much smoke. Well, listen. And all of a sudden, I hear the drums echoing tonight. It's Toto! A dog? Which I've written as toot in this note for some reason. Toto, huh? Hell yeah. Playing? Africa. Uh-huh. Hold the line. Uh-huh. The place? And the other one. And the other one.
[0:17:16] Eric: If I came here and Coolio played first, I'd be like, wow, dude, Coolio, that's pretty crazy. And then Toto comes on, I'd be like, oh, okay. I mean, I guess we'll see what other stage has something going on. Fucking A-right. Right, but they're not opening with Africa. Look, closing.
[0:17:35] Gavin: They just play it for now.
[0:17:36] Eric: They open with it, then they close with it. You're making them play it twice? Yeah. Encore, encore. One more time. At the beginning, they start playing Africa. Da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da. Everyone's on their feet, and they start chanting, Encore, encore! From the very beginning. One more time! One more time! They don't even let it get to the chorus. They want to hear it again. It's a good show! It's a good show! The idea of chanting, Encore. Oh, it's so cool. Oh, man. Well, my next act is here. Motley Crue, Vince Neal, the weight of vehicular manslaughter weighing heavy on him, he finishes his set, and he sets down the microphone gently, and the rest of the band's shooting heroin into their dicks, and they're going crazy. But Vince Neal's like, what have I done? Like, oh, no. Like, the weight of all of it is really catching up to him,
[0:18:36] Eric: and he walks off stage quietly, and the crowd's sort of mystified by, oh, my God, what's happening? We just got rocked so fucking hard. This is crazy. And then, all of a sudden, the dulcet tones of California surf rock begin, and the Beach Boys taking the stage. Brian Wilson, Dennis Wilson. Who's that? Charles Manson? My God, he's out here dancing with the Beach Boys. They brought their friend Chuck to come dance and be like a ska show. Charles Manson is on the stage. He's the guy fish out of the Beach Boys. Oh, my God. Once upon a time in Goof World? In Goof World, Charles Manson's dancing, and he's going into the crowd, and he's recruiting people watching this concert. The music of the Beach Boys, they're playing Barbara Ann, and it's just sending people into such a tizzy that they're beginning to follow Charles Manson around.
[0:19:37] Eric: Oh, no. The more songs they play, God Only Knows plays, and they're in a trance. Charles Manson is taking the people away from the concert, and Dennis Wilson just sort of standing there going like, what have I done? I've led this maniac into the popular culture, and I can't believe it. So the rest of the band is having fun and playing songs, but Dennis Wilson just sort of sets down his drumsticks, and he's like, my God, the weight of this is so heavy on him, and he can't believe this. And then the lights go out, and then all of a sudden, one cannon gets wheeled onto the stage as the Beach Boys are gone. One cannon, a single cannon comes out. One guy, one stage hand, sort of quietly walks over to it, and he pulls it.
[0:20:22] Unidentified: Bang!
[0:20:22] Eric: For those about to rock, we salute you as ACDC picks it back up. ACDC is out rocking in the free world. Everyone is now leaving. They are leaving Charles Manson to come back and watch these awesome rockers from Australia. And then Phil Rudd, the drummer, looks into the crowd, and like a Terminator, he zeroes in and begins to see his target. My God, it's a plot for Murder for Hire. Phil Rudd is here at the Goof World concert to eliminate his target. It's all been a guise for Murder for Hire from the drummer of ACDC, but can he be successful in doing it? My God, we'll have to wait and find out until my final act.
[0:21:10] Andrew: You got the band from Iron Man 2?
[0:21:12] Eric: For those about to rock, shoot, they're gonna, yeah. Is Phil Rudd gonna shoot to thrill? Too many Phil's. Yeah. Murder for Hire? My God, Nick, what is your next act? Lightning strikes the stage. ACDC disappears completely.
[0:21:32] Nick: Suddenly,
[0:21:33] Unidentified: a bat is flung into the crowd. Ozzy steps up and Black Sabbath starts playing Warped in it. That's a great pick.
[0:21:41] Gavin: I thought he was dead.
[0:21:44] Unidentified: He's back, baby! You can't kill what's undead! He was faking it all along. He was faking it?
[0:21:54] Andrew: It was all part of a plan. He faked his own death
[0:21:56] Eric: to come back. And it's so strange because you were on board for Coolio and didn't have any No, no, no issue.
[0:22:02] Andrew: It's funny to me the idea that Ozzy Osbourne isn't actually dead. He faked his own death just to come back for a Goof World show.
[0:22:10] Nick: I get all the Ozzy songs too, right?
[0:22:12] Eric: Hey, you know what? Yeah, I was going to say that's up to Andrew and it sounds like that's just fine. He feels like it? He's going through changes.
[0:22:24] Unidentified: Mama, I'm coming home!
[0:22:29] Eric: Kelly Osbourne comes out and they sing Pompatone Free. Oh, God! Oh, God!
[0:22:35] Unidentified: Oh, man. Prime presents Perfect Pairings. What pairs with Reacher on Prime? Reaching for a sparkling punch delivered with Prime. [0:23:52] Eric: Jeff! That's me. How are you going to top ACDC and Black Sabbath back-to-back like that?
[0:23:55] Geoff: Well, my concert started with Cheap Trick and then it went into Hollow Notes. Now the sun has just set and it's time to take the energy down a little bit. We know we're going to end strong. We're going to want to save all of our energy and momentum to finish with the height of excitement and expectation. And so we need to mellow out a little bit and there's nobody on Earth alive or dead that helps a crowd mellow out more than Jimmy Buffett.
[0:24:22] Unidentified: Oh! We're going to have
[0:24:25] Geoff: a little refrain. We're going to relax a little bit. We're going to have a little cheeseburger in paradise. We're going to sing about pencil-thin mustaches and come on Monday and we're going to have a lovely... He's doing what on Monday? Come Monday. Every Monday? Fins to the left of us, fins to the right but we're enjoying the music. Wow. Changes in latitude is changes in attitude. That's right.
[0:24:45] Eric: Very interesting. If I was at a concert, Hall & Oates finished and Jimmy Buffett came on, I don't know what I would do.
[0:24:51] Geoff: You'd love it. You'd love it. You'd be like, oh, I appreciate catching my breath now and I know something.
[0:24:55] Eric: Catching my breath. I know what's coming behind me is going to blow
[0:24:58] Geoff: my dick off.
[0:24:59] Eric: I was doing fire ups. They played Sarah Smile and I went fucking insane. He's Jimmy Buffett. They played At a Touch, At a Time. And we were like,
[0:25:06] Unidentified: fuck it. You're at a touch.
[0:25:09] Eric: I'm at a time. Hey, you're getting at Goof World, a lot of parrot heads, maybe. There are, for sure. Remains to be seen. Goof World is spiritually tied to Key West. I get it. I get it. Andrew, Outcast is getting done.
[0:25:25] Unidentified: Outcast finishes.
[0:25:26] Andrew: Andre threatens the flute but does not play. But it's out there. Decidedly, no smoke. They just walk off the stage. Oh, wow. Zero effect. No pyro. Big part of the Goof World experience, though, is that Jeff, you inhabit it, Eric, you inhabit it, and annoying each other is a key part of living together, surviving in this Goof World. Lasers start blasting everybody in the show because they strike me as a laser group. A wall suddenly emerges. It's a wonder wall.
[0:26:03] Eric: What? What? Is that? Okay. So when he said lasers and a wall. I thought you were thinking Pink Floyd, maybe? Pink Floyd, 100%. I'm like getting right here with my fingers over pee,
[0:26:17] Andrew: and he just goes Alice in Wonderland.
[0:26:19] Eric: Oasis.
[0:26:19] Geoff: How old were you when you went to your first Pink Floyd laser live show? I was 18, Eric.
[0:26:25] Gavin: I imagine if lasers going everywhere, a wall comes up, the lasers just stop, and it's Oasis. Are they the
[0:26:30] Andrew: Ka-ching band? Are they the Oasis? No. Floyd. Yes. Oasis is playing currently on the show. They're on a wall of wonder in Goof World.
[0:26:44] Eric: All in all, we're just another brick in the Wonder Wall. That's right. Absolutely. Now, Andrew, when you say, I feel like this band has lasers. Is that like don't look back in anger and it like starts a big blast and lasers at people?
[0:27:07] Andrew: It's just, you know, like green and blue and purple and gurple and all the lasers just blasting everywhere like kind of a laser tag type of thing.
[0:27:15] Eric: Don't put your life in the hands of a rock and roll band. Zap, zap, zap, zap, zap, zap, zap, zap, zap, zap.
[0:27:20] Gavin: Also, wild to bring the lasers out as soon as the smoke's gone.
[0:27:24] Eric: You get the smoke out of there and then you start lasering. We have to barely see these lasers.
[0:27:29] Andrew: We can just see the tip.
[0:27:30] Gavin: We can just see what the lasers hit
[0:27:32] Andrew: but not the lines. I am. It's mainly the stage shakes and they rise from the, they're on top of the wall as it raises. Oh.
[0:27:40] Eric: Like Humpty Dumpty. Dude, Oasis is like, you set it up for Pink Floyd. That was fucking crazy. I don't know anything
[0:27:49] Andrew: about Pink Floyd.
[0:27:50] Eric: You know anything about Genesis?
[0:27:53] Andrew: South Collins, baby.
[0:27:56] Eric: Well, Gavin, any lasers or anything for your next two picks?
[0:28:03] Andrew: Absolutely not. Lasers are off. Ladies and gentlemen.
[0:28:11] Unidentified: Jump, you prick. Yeah.
[0:28:19] Geoff: They just play that one and play that one song and they leave.
[0:28:21] Unidentified: We'll be singing Encore. Oh, man.
[0:28:26] Gavin: The encore goes three or four times. They keep playing the same song. They leave the stage and make way for my final pick. Seems to be a silhouette. Seems to be about four people, I think. Four people coming out. My God. One of them looks shockingly like Bono. The crowd gets worried. They think you two might be coming out. They get worried? But no worries. Someone comes running from the side of the stage with a sledgehammer. It's not Peter Gabriel. He's been taken. It's someone who everyone thought would be dead but he continues to live. It's Robbie Williams. Yeah!
[0:29:08] Eric: He's alive! Oh, wow. And he's a monkey the whole time? He's a monkey
[0:29:12] Gavin: the whole time.
[0:29:14] Eric: What? I'm going eight for this guy.
[0:29:18] Geoff: I can finally hear a Robbie Williams song. This will be great. He plays on the corpse. Does he play Millennium? He plays Millennium. Does he look like a monkey on the stage?
[0:29:25] Gavin: Does he play rock DJ? He plays rock DJ he starts flinging his skin off until he's just a skeleton stood upon the corpse of Bono.
[0:29:34] Eric: Wow. That's pretty cool. Does he play any of the Take That songs
[0:29:39] Gavin: or whatever that band was? No, he doesn't play any Take That. Gary Barlow would be livid.
[0:29:45] Eric: Hey, can somebody email Gary Barlow? You can't get a hold of Barlow. He's way too big.
[0:29:54] Geoff: Jeff, you know who Gary Barlow is? Doesn't everybody know Gary Barlow of Take That fame?
[0:30:01] Unidentified: Why did he have to kill Bono? Why? Yeah. People were worried.
[0:30:08] Eric: Four guys came out and then Robbie Williams killed Bono and the rest of you two scattered?
[0:30:14] Gavin: And that was a very goof world fest.
[0:30:16] Eric: That was a very goof world fest. Andrew, what are you thinking for your final act?
[0:30:22] Andrew: Laser's gone. Starts raining on the crowd. Water coming down. Why? I don't know. It's fucking crazy. We're getting insane in goof world. Has nothing to do with this act. My final performance. I always love when I can put some Canadian representation into my board. Crush test dummies. None other than Feist. Some relaxing pop music to close the show. Get everybody in a good mood. The Apple Music band? I mean, that's how you know them as an American. But as a Canadian, Feist does a lot more than them. That is a single by Feist. 2006. And you said
[0:31:09] Eric: getting the check and going home
[0:31:11] Andrew: was a bad thing.
[0:31:12] Eric: No, you just don't know music. You might have bombed your whole draft.
[0:31:17] Geoff: No, I love Feist. Feist is a great artist. It's a strong Canadian pull, I'm sure. It is.
[0:31:21] Andrew: As your main event? Yeah. Well, I don't view it as a main event. I have four main events is what I got.
[0:31:29] Unidentified: Okay.
[0:31:31] Geoff: All right. Well, I have a main event.
[0:31:34] Unidentified: Jeff,
[0:31:35] Eric: what's your main event? It can't be Feist.
[0:31:37] Geoff: I'm glad you asked, Eric. A lot of people have heard rumors that maybe Robbie Williams was going to close out my show and maybe Feist, but neither proved to be true. We've had our mellow Jimmy Buffett moment for an hour and ten minutes. We sang along to all of our parents' favorite songs. We really loved it and now we're ready to rock out Detroit style. We want to rock out with the most rocking rock band of all time. Put on the biggest best show ever consistently every time. You got the best. We're going to end the show with Kiss.
[0:32:11] Eric: The hottest band in the land? That's right.
[0:32:14] Geoff: Who better to close out a goof world goof fest than with the Kiss Army.
[0:32:20] Unidentified: I heard some of you in the crowd like to taste the alcohol! Everyone's like, yay!
[0:32:27] Eric: They start naming alcohol. It's so cool. That's awesome. Is it the original lineup with Peter Criss? Yes, it is. He's the cat man. Whoa!
[0:32:35] Nick: Meow. You're about to
[0:32:36] Andrew: try to steal Peter Gabriel.
[0:32:37] Eric: Everybody's still alive.
[0:32:40] Geoff: It's amazing.
[0:32:41] Eric: That's a great lineup. To see Ace, pretty cool. To see Peter, pretty cool. Gene is also there. He will be there. I like Paul Stanley. That's great.
[0:32:51] Gavin: Which member do you think would be most likely to replace their makeup with the regulation logo for goof world fest?
[0:32:57] Eric: Gene, if you paid him. It would be Peter Criss. It would be Peter Criss because I think he would do anything not to be the cat man anymore. I think that at their first show, Kiss told Peter Criss, hey, we're all going to be cats. Paint your face like a cat. The show is at 7. So you got to be here at 7. And then he's like, oh, okay. And then he shows up like a cat and then he sees the other guys and he's the only one like a cat and they go too fucking late and then they put the drumsticks in his hand and that's how he became the cat man. That's, I really think that they tricked him. Got him good. Peter Criss. Rock and roll. Thanks, Pete. Hey, Nick, you have one more pick. What do you got?
[0:33:40] Nick: Things are calming down. It's getting quiet. Things are, no smoke this time, by the way. No smoke. But the stage is completely black. Nobody can see what's going on. Suddenly, lights go up. It's reeling in the ears. It's Steely Dan. Was that reeling in the ears? Oh, okay.
[0:34:01] Unidentified: I guess I hear it.
[0:34:08] Nick: Anyway, do it again. Whoa. Eric, don't lose that number.
[0:34:14] Unidentified: Ryun Shoo. Ryun Shoo. Thank you. 50.
[0:34:18] Eric: Oh my God. Thank you. Steely Dan. Wow, they really like that Steely Dan picnic. Good picnic. Yeah. Good lineup.
[0:34:25] Unidentified: See ya,
[0:34:26] Eric: Goof Palooze. What's up? See ya. Did you, did you end it with uh? Did you say uh? Goofalooza. I said Palooze. Uh. Motley Crue has rocked it out. Vince Neil's sad, leaving. Beach Boys had Charles Manson, Dennis Wilson, just can't believe what happened. Hey, it's tough, but ACDC murder for hire, it goes awry. He takes the shot, he's like shoot the thrill, he starts shooting into the crowd, but he's missing. He's like a hundred years old. There's no way, he's not gonna be able to make that shot. He's dejected, they end their set, as Grunk Funkle gives 20 subs. Oh my God,
[0:35:09] Gavin: Grunk Funkle.
[0:35:10] Eric: Because Grunk Funkle knows that it's time to turn this up. The smoke reappears, it's thicker than ever. The laser's bigger, wider than ever. Because Jeff, it's about to get fucking hardcore in here. We're turning it all the way up as Klegco gives five subs. And this is for the youth, just like that. It's turnstile. That's one for the kids. Turnstile's here. But it's weird. It's weird. They have two guitarists on stage. One of the guitarists all of a sudden sees the father of the singer in the crowd. He runs off the stage, gets into a car, and starts running him down in the Goof World crowd. My God, attempted manslaughter. This can't be what Turnstile's all about. It's not. They kicked him out of the band, and we closed down Goof World with all your favorite Turnstile songs, guys. Everyone's such a Turnstile fan.
[0:36:08] Geoff: Eric,
[0:36:08] Eric: what's your favorite
[0:36:09] Geoff: Turnstile song?
[0:36:10] Eric: Just like that! I like when they say that over and over again. And then everyone goes, guys, this band is just like, dude, they're like leading the way in hardcore music. What a hardcore band Turnstile is. This heavy rock.
[0:36:24] Geoff: That new album is such a shoegaze album. So far from hardcore.
[0:36:27] Eric: Grammy winning and arrested for attempted vehicular manslaughter in the first degree.
[0:36:34] Geoff: He was already out of the band when that happened. Absolutely. He's been out of the band for a while. And this is how
[0:36:37] Gavin: he got out of the band. How do you attempt manslaughter?
[0:36:40] Eric: I think you start running people down. And they make it. Yeah. I think that you, I think you attempt to kill your singer's dad with a car. Sounds like
[0:36:50] Gavin: attempted murder.
[0:36:51] Eric: Pretty typical Baltimore behavior, I think. Just like that. Guys, those are our Goof World bands. Here's the lineup. I have picked Motley Crue, The Beach Boys, ACDC, and Turnstile. Hell of a show. Nick has picked Coolio, Toto, Black Sabbath, and Steely Dan. Jeff has picked Cheap Trick, Hall and Oates, Jimmy Buffett, and Kiss. Andrew's picked Genesis, Outcast, Oasis, and Feist, and Gavin. His goof lineup. Gavin has picked Randy Newman, Michael McDonald, Chumbawamba, and Robbie Williams. Those are our picks for Goof World Fest, and now it's up to you to let us know. Guys, any honorable mentions, anything you want to talk about with your picks? Andrew, anything you want to point out about your picks?
[0:37:45] Andrew: Phil Collins is part of Genesis. Andre has a flute, but he does not play it, but it's there. Are you eating Home Slice? Oasis isn't Pink Floyd, and Feist is a great artist, you uncultured fucks.
[0:38:04] Eric: Andrew, me and Nick looked at each other, figured it out. Andrew has spelled Goof with his picks. his goof picks top to bottom. Way to go. That's clever. Thank you. Thank you.
[0:38:18] Nick: Yeah. When I was thinking this was just artists and not a show, I had written an old lady playing the organ at a baseball game. That's a good pick. That's such a good pick. That would have played very well.
[0:38:31] Eric: Nick, that's such a good pick. Let me just vote for myself real quick. No, get it out of here. You guys can vote in the chat and let us know, but Robert, if you had to pick one of these fests to go to, which one would you pick?
[0:38:46] Unidentified: Honestly, I think, I think I thematically have to go with the Goof lineup. What the fuck? Listen, this was Robert's last name. Listen, it says Goof. It spells Goof. It spells Goof. I have to do it. It spells Goof. That was a laser That's the goofiest. There was rain and feist. And they were on the laser wonder wall. This was clean manga kiss.
[0:39:08] Eric: They were on the laser wonder wall. They were. Oh my God. Oh shit. That's so funny. Guys, it's up to you to let us know who won our first ever live poll. How are you guys feeling? Any honorable mentions? Anything else you guys wanted to get sent out there?
[0:39:33] Unidentified: Darius Rucker.
[0:39:34] Gavin: Smash Bros. I did, I originally wanted to go Jefferson Airplane, Jefferson Starship, Starship.
[0:39:42] Eric: Yeah.
[0:39:42] Gavin: But I went off theme.
[0:39:44] Eric: I understand. Sometimes you gotta go off theme. I felt good about my theme of just like, it's a killer lineup. A total killer lineup top to bottom.
[0:39:53] Geoff: I would see any of those concerts.
[0:39:54] Eric: Yeah.
[0:39:56] Geoff: You would go see
[0:39:57] Eric: Chumbawumba?
[0:39:58] Geoff: I mean, I'd go hang out with Gavin and then eat a turkey leg or something.
[0:40:03] Gavin: And then you watch your band and I'll watch Girl Talk.
[0:40:05] Geoff: Yeah. That's true. I watch Refuse while you watch Girl Talk.
[0:40:09] Gavin: Yeah. I also had Billy Squire because we make fun of him a lot on Break Show. Oh yeah, that's right. I had Justin Hawkins, didn't pick him. And then I had The Meat Men.
[0:40:18] Geoff: That would have caught me off guard if you'd pick The Meat Men.
[0:40:23] Gavin: Which was a very early
[0:40:25] Geoff: podcast reference. One of the most offensive punk bands. Yeah, I tried listening to one song and I went, oh no. Yeah, no, they're the kind of band that couldn't exist today.
[0:40:41] Eric: Andrew, did you have any honorable mentions
[0:40:43] Andrew: or anything? I thought about Smash Mouth for a little bit. They felt very goofed to me. Yeah. Yeah. God, it's the neck of the neck.
[0:40:51] Eric: But outside of that, no, not really. I locked it on my lineup. Yeah, this is crazy. In the poll, just so you guys are aware on Twitch as we're doing this live, me and Jeff are locked up at 31% and I think like five votes separate us right now, which is crazy. So you can vote, but this was our first ever live draft. I'm pretty impressed. There appears to be
[0:41:15] Andrew: some confusion at the poll. You're voting for who you think won. I just want to clarify.
[0:41:21] Unidentified: And what did you think? I just want to make sure everyone understands
[0:41:29] Gavin: the poll. I'm just trying to hit triple digits.
[0:41:34] Eric: After closing this poll and after calling out that it was neck and neck, we had to get the people out of the woodwork to vote for Jeff as Jeff closes it out with 32%. Very close.
[0:41:47] Andrew: What do you think by Jeff?
[0:41:48] Eric: Barely won. By nine votes, you beat me by nine votes. I had a good anniversary today. I won some golf. A couple of rounds of golf. It's pretty incredible. I won the draft for once in my life. It's all coming up Jeff. There you go. Well, guys, that's our first ever live draft. You want to check out more? Check out patreon.com slash the regulation pod. You can check out the podcast, check out the gameplay videos and more. But we'll see you next time. That's Goof World Fest. Bye.
